The Richard A. Simpson, formerly the CII Scholarship, is awarded annually to a deserving midshipman from the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, NY. CII meets with Kings Point administrators to determine which midshipman receives the award. The scholarship was named in honor of Dick Simpson, who passed away in January 2008. Mr. Simpson served as Chairman and/or President for 20 years, a Board member since 1985 and founder of the scholarship program for CII in 1992.
