Richard Steinke retired from the Port of Long Beach as Executive Director but not before the industry turned out to salute him at the Connie event on September 22, 2011. More than 200 people, traveling from throughout the U.S., were there to honor his contributions to our industry.

Rick Gabrielson, Director of International Transportation for Target Corporation and George Schember, Vice President, Corporate Transportation and Logistics for Cargill were honored at the Connie Award dinner in Chicago on April 6, 2011. The event commenced an annual Connie in the Midwest every April.

In December 2010, industry leaders crowded the Newark Club for the Connie Award dinner and CII’s 50th anniversary event to honor J. Russell Bruner, Chairman of Maersk Inc., and James Newsome III, President of the South Carolina State Ports Authority.
