Chris Brooks
President
Chris Brooks leads JOC Events programs and works closely with the editorial team focusing on JOC.com and The Journal of Commerce. A 35-year company veteran, Chris’ career has spanned every aspect of the editorial operation, from copy and front-line editing to design, reporting, and overseeing numerous websites. Chris currently leads the programming teams for 10 annual JOC events.

Vice President
Lisa Wheldon is Director of Sales for Medlog Companies. Lisa was previously Sales Director at Blume Global. With over three decades of experience in the area of transportation and logistics, Lisa has held positions at Jacksonville Port Authority, SeaLand, CSX Intermodal, Florida East Coast Railway and Direct ChassisLink, Inc.
Mike DiVirgilio
Second Vice President
Mike DiVirgilio is the Principal of MJDiVirgilio & Associates. Prior to launching his consulting business, Mike spent 40 years working in the industry. Mike began his maritime career in New York City with Moore-McCormack Lines. Before going to Ceres, Mike was a 30-plus year veteran of NYK Line (NA).
Michele Grubbs
Secretary
Michele Grubbs manages the Long Beach office as Vice President of PMSA. Prior to working for PMSA, Michele was employed in the aerospace industry, engaged in various international trade policy and marketing roles in Washington D.C., California, and Western Europe.
john Moseley
Treasurer
John Moseley was appointed as Chief Commercial Officer in 2018. John drives and executes the port’s commercial strategy. John oversees the port’s real estate, trade development, economic development, marketing and branding, research and forecasting departments as well as administration of Harris County FTZ 84. Prior to being named CCO, John served as Port Houston’s Senior Director of Trade Development, where he managed global sales and business development. John was instrumental in executing the port’s market growth strategy, training and managing of the Port’s trade development team in the U.S. and overseas.
Lisa Aurichio
Executive Director
Lisa Aurichio, President of BSY Associates, has more than 20 years of marketing communications experience, working with global organizations both inside and outside of the international trade and transportation industry. Lisa has been Executive Director since 2019.
Barbara S. Yeninas
Prior to her passing in May 2024, Barbara Yeninas lead BSY Associates Inc., a leading business-to-business branding and marketing communications consulting firm. Barbara was active in promoting the container industry for more than four decades and played a key role in many industry educational outreach programs.
DIRECTORS
Randy Bayles
Randy Bayles, who is recently retired as the Group Manager for Ports at Norfolk Southern Corporation, has been involved in the transportation industry for 35 years. For the past 22 years Randy has held various marketing and sales positions with Norfolk Southern, the most recent having responsibility for business development at all intermodal and automotive ports in the U.S. and Canada.
Steven Blust
Steve Blust is the President & Co-Founder of Blust Intermodal Advisors. Steve is a former Chairman of the Federal Maritime Commission. Steve has been involved with CII for more than a decade in various executive roles. Steve has been instrumental in the success of CII's scholarship program as the organization's recent Education Committee chair.
Jahan Byrne
Jahan Byrne is the director of corporate marketing for Matson Logistics, a Top 25 3PL and supply chain solutions provider, and part of ocean carrier, Matson. At Matson Logistics, Jahan oversees all brand and corporate marketing for the $800 million enterprise, which provides land transportation, warehousing and distribution, and international supply chain services to companies ranging from Fortune 500 to start-ups.
Robert Cannizzaro
Rob Cannizzaro is the Executive Director of the Ocean Carrier Equipment Management Association (OCEMA) a U.S. based association of 10 major ocean common carriers. OCEMA’s focus is on operational and safety matters pertaining to intermodal transportation. In early 2025, Rob founded Cannizzaro Intermodal Advisors LLC to provide advisory services to firms engaged in containerized freight transportation and related services in North America and around the world. Immediately prior, Rob was the Chief Operating Officer at the Intermodal Association of North America where he served as the key leader for the IANA's operations and business development activities, including industry technology products and services. Rob came to this position from the organization’s Board of Directors.
nick fafoutis
Nick Fafoutis is the Executive Vice President at American President Lines (APL) in the Washington, DC area, overseeing commercial and operational functions for the company’s U.S. Government business. Previously, he was Chief Commercial Officer at CMA CGM from 2015–2021 and 2023–January 2025, and also held leadership roles at Damco and P&O Nedlloyd. A 34+ year industry veteran, Nick holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of Southern California and an MBA in Information Systems from California State University, Long Beach.
Susan Gardner
Susan Gardner is the Vice President of Operations at the Georgia Port Authority. She joined the GPA in February of 2020 after nearly 25 years of maritime experience. In her role at the GPA, she is responsible for the GPA operations and equipment maintenance in Savannah, Brunswick, and all inland operations. With a team of around 1300 people, she ensures the safe and efficient daily operations, while also being involved in the numerous redevelopment projects that the GPA is working on to expand capacity.
ANNE KAPPEL
Anne Kappel is a Senior Advisor to the World Shipping Council (WSC), representing the international liner shipping industry on specific public policy issues. Anne directed the organization’s strategy, public relations, communications and policy analysis activities. Anne was with WSC for almost twenty years. Before her work at WSC, Anne worked for liner carriers, U.S. Lines, Sea-Land and Maersk in a broad range of functions and leadership roles.
kendall P. kellaway iii
Kendall Kellaway III is the Senior Vice President, Commercial of RoadOne IntermodaLogistics, the largest privately held dray and related solutions provider in the US. As SVP Kendall oversees all of RoadOne's commercial and marketing efforts, as well as its dray brokerage division ROLS. Kendall is one of the co-founders of destination management company EDRAY, as well as asset light warehousing group Kinimatic, and sits on the advisory boards of several logistics tech companies in various verticals.
Reade Kidd
Reade Kidd, CEO and Co-Founder of EDRAY, has spent over 20 years in the international supply chain field. Prior to EDRAY, Mr. Kidd was the Chief Commercial Officer and Head of Strategy for XpertFreight, a boutique domestic freight brokerage company.
Zach Martin
Zach Martin serves as Senior Vice President and Intermodal Division Leader at Odyssey Logistics, bringing more than 13 years of experience across domestic and international intermodal logistics. Throughout his career, Zach has played a pivotal role in building, scaling, and leading high-performing intermodal organizations across North America for global transportation and logistics providers.
MIChAEL MENDOZA
With over three decades in the logistics sector, Michael Mendoza’s journey has led him to become the Chief Global Advisor at WSI, where he leverages his deep-rooted expertise in ocean logistics and logistics management. WSI is dedicated to empowering global trade, which aligns with Michael’s personal mission to streamline logistics processes. His focus is on creating value through strategic leadership and fostering partnerships that resonate with WSI's culture and goals. Michael has been a part of the CII board since 2015.
giancarlo morgera
Since 2004, Giancarlo has held the position of Executive Vice President for all Liner aspects for Export USA at MSC. He joined MSC in 1986, obtaining his Captain’s license while navigating routes to Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands. Throughout his tenure, he served as Port Captain in Belgium and the UK, Trade Manager for relay services, South Africa, and Australia, Vice President of MSC's West Coast operations, and Senior Vice President for Trades.
Ken O’Brien
Ken O'Brien serves as President and CEO of Gemini Shippers Association, where he leads initiatives to enhance supply chain resilience and sustainability. He also founded Bluspark, providing tech-enabled logistics solutions. With over 20 years in the shipping industry, including senior roles at APL and Hapag Lloyd, Ken holds degrees from Texas A&M and NYU, and serves on several advisory committees.
RADO Saragih
Rado Saragih serves as the Manager of Shipper Outreach for the Port Department at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, one of the nation's most strategic and dynamic trade gateways. In this role, Rado leads initiatives to engage directly with beneficial cargo owners (BCOs), importers, exporters, freight forwarders and key stakeholders to promote the advantages of routing cargo through the Port of NY & NJ.
SUSan Shey Dvonch
Susan Shey Dvonch is the Managing Partner of Shey-Harding Executive Search, a recruitment firm specializing in the transportation industry. Founded in 1990, the firm is headquartered in Seal Beach, California. Since joining in 2003, Susan has led numerous executive searches at the C-suite level for companies across the United States. Shey-Harding’s clients include port authorities, ocean shipping companies, marine terminal operators, and other organizations connected to ocean transportation.
Tong Zhu
Tong Zhu is responsible for the organization’s commercial team, including the alliance’s container and non-container cargo business portfolio and oversees business development, real estate, and marketing & research departments.
